August 7, 1938 – May 22, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, and sister Lee Dreger on May 22, 2020. Lee was born Elena Acker in Lake Pleasant, NS where she grew up with her parents, 8 siblings, and a one-horned cow named Rosebud.
She met her future husband Leslie, then an RCAF technician, on a beach near Lake Pleasant and despite him unintentionally almost drowning her that day, married him and moved to Ottawa to raise a family. She is survived by Leslie, her husband of 57 yrs, and their children Kimberly(Daniel), Derek(Vanessa) and Sharilyn (Dean). Her love, kindness, generosity, and baking will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren (Bradley, Kyle, Matthew, Margaret, William, Lindsey, Odina, Olivia and Orla). Predeceased by her parents Banford and Flora Acker, and brothers, Leo, James, Frelan and Sherman; survived by her sisters Marguerite(the late Murray), Joan (the late Edwin), Muriel and Marlene(Ben). Cherished aunt to her nieces, nephews and their children and a pillar of support to her friends.
