Condolence From: Norma Grant

Condolence: I was very sad to see the obituary for Claire recently and wish I had known where she was as I would have loved to visit her again after all these years. I knew Claire briefly when I lived in Perth many years ago when I first came to Canada. I had a daughter Liesa, the same age as Victor, and I babysat Victor for a few months when Claire took a job in Perth. Our family visited the Thompsons once at their farm but unfortunately due to my ill health I had to end the babysitting and afterwards lost touch with Claire as we moved away. I am now back in Ottawa since retirement and am often in Almonte and have wondered what happened to the Thompson family. I always admired Claire and found her an interesting person to talk to and a great asset to her adopted country. She was a remarkable person all round. My condolences to Tony and Victor and perhaps I will visit the cemetery at Rosetta and pay my respects when I am out that way.

Condolence From: Berne and Doris McKinley

Condolence: To Rev. Tony and Victor: We are so sad to hear that Claire has passed away. She was always so informative regarding our Rodger connections and now she is gone....she once gave me a picture of the original Rodger family and I prize it so much. We are so glad that we were able to visit her at the home in Almonte a couple of times......once with my sisters Helen and Leona (Johnston), and the latter time with my husband when we were visiting the MacFarlanes. We send our sympathy to your families.
